Copper and Arc: what's actually confirmed, and what isn't
Copper's confirmed relationship is a general Circle-USDC partnership from April 2025 that does not name Arc. Here's exactly what is and isn't confirmed.
Copper has a confirmed, dated relationship with Circle — a 28 April 2025 partnership expanding USDC settlement support through Copper's ClearLoop platform. That published relationship does not mention Arc anywhere. Copper is also not named in Circle's 5 August 2026 founding-validator-and-integrations press release, the document that names Fireblocks, Chainlink, and 20 other integration partners. As of 2 September 2026, an Arc-specific Copper relationship is not yet confirmed. This page exists to state that plainly rather than to imply one.

Why this page exists
Copper is a well-known institutional digital-asset custodian, and "institutional custodian" plus "Circle partner" is exactly the kind of combination that gets rounded up into "Copper supports Arc" in secondary coverage or casual conversation. Built on Arc's editorial stance is status and verification, not inference — so where the actual published record stops short of an Arc claim, the honest thing to do is describe precisely what's confirmed and stop there, rather than pad a gap with confident-sounding language. That is the substance of this page.
What Copper actually is
Copper is an institutional crypto custody and prime-brokerage infrastructure provider. Its flagship product, ClearLoop, lets institutional clients settle trades and move collateral across connected exchanges without assets leaving Copper's custody — the pitch being reduced counterparty risk versus wiring funds directly to an exchange for every trade. It is a recognized name in institutional digital-asset infrastructure generally, independent of any Arc-specific question.
What the confirmed Circle relationship actually says
On 28 April 2025, Copper and Circle announced a partnership enabling Copper's institutional clients to convert off-exchange balances into USDC and conduct instant trading and settlement across connected exchanges, with assets remaining in custody through ClearLoop throughout. The announcement, published by Copper and covered by trade outlets including Asset Servicing Times and Crowdfund Insider, is specifically about USDC settlement infrastructure generally — it does not reference Arc, which at the time of that announcement had not yet been introduced publicly (Circle's Arc blog post followed later in 2025).

What this does and does not tell you
This does not mean Copper has no relationship with Circle — it plainly does, and that relationship is real, dated, and sourced. It also does not mean Copper will never support Arc; institutional custody integrations frequently expand to new chains without a fresh press release every time, and Copper's general USDC infrastructure relationship with Circle makes an eventual Arc integration a plausible next step rather than a surprising one. What this page will not do is state that as a fact ahead of evidence. The gap between "plausible" and "confirmed" is exactly the distinction Built on Arc exists to preserve.
How this compares to other named custody providers
Fireblocks, by contrast, is directly named in Circle's 5 August 2026 founding-validator-and-integrations release and has a separate, dedicated Circle press release specifically about the Arc relationship. That is a materially different evidentiary position than Copper's — not because Copper is a lesser custodian generally, but because the specific Arc claim has direct sourcing for Fireblocks and none for Copper as of this writing. See Built on Arc's custody providers comparison for the full name-by-name breakdown, including BitGo, Ledger Enterprise, and Cactus Custody, none of which currently clear an Arc-specific bar either.
What would actually confirm this
A dated announcement naming Arc specifically — from Copper, from Circle, or both — with some indication of scope (custody of USDC on Arc specifically, or a broader multi-chain custody claim that explicitly lists Arc) would move this from unconfirmed to confirmed. Until that exists, this page will not be rewritten to imply a relationship the public record does not support.
Institutions evaluating custody options for Arc-based yield or treasury products should check ArcYield for that separate question — this page covers custody-relationship status only, not yield mechanics.
