How listings work

Our own shortlist of the clearest examples of real work on Arc. It is unpaid, it cannot be bought, and no paying project has ever been added to it as part of a deal. Index entries carry a warm mark after the name and a warm kicker on their own page.

An Index pick is not an endorsement, a recommendation or investment advice. It means we think the entry is a useful example of what is actually happening.

Every entry carries one editor-written sentence describing what the project does with the chain and for whom. We write it. It is never the project’s own tagline, and no entry publishes without it — if we cannot describe the Arc work in one honest sentence, we do not have enough to list it.

Each entry has one primary role, describing its relationship to the chain rather than its quality. A project that deploys runs its own contracts on Arc; one that integrates wires Arc into a product that already exists; one that issues puts an asset on the chain; one that serves provides infrastructure other Arc projects depend on.

Operating a founding validator is recorded as a mark, not a role. Running a validator is not the same as shipping a product, and we will not let the two blur.

Four statuses, each carrying a source URL, a short note and the date we checked. Live means we observed the product working for real customers. Testnet means Arc testnet only, no live customer money. Announced means stated intent with nothing observable. Inactive means no observed activity when we last looked.

Statuses are observations on a date, not permanent judgments. Inactive in particular is reversible: send a source and we re-check.

Two flags render red after a name: unverified claim, where a project states an Arc relationship we cannot source, and lookalike, where a property imitates an official one. Under review renders neutral and means we have an open question, not a conclusion.

Flags carry the same evidence standard as statuses. A project can send a response and we publish it on the entry, next to the flag. Flags cannot be removed by payment, and a paid placement is never used to soften a flag notice.

Every entry records whether we found an official source, whether the project claims the Arc work itself, and whether we observed a product live to customers — each with a note and a date.

On-chain checks — contract verification, published audit, liquidity lock, reserve attestation — are shown only for projects that deploy or issue, because they have no meaning otherwise. A check marked not applicable is not a negative and is never rendered as one. None of these checks is a security or solvency guarantee.

Listing — $249 once, a paid submission, labelled “Listing”. Outbound links carry rel="sponsored". A Listing never affects status, evidence, flags or the Editor’s Index.

Claiming an entry is free and never changes its tier. A paid listing buys inclusion and speed. It changes nothing editorial.

Where an entry belongs to the same ecosystem that operates this directory, the entry says so in plain language on its own page. We hold those entries to the same evidence standard as everything else, and disclosure is not optional.

Built on Arc is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Circle Internet Group or Arc.

If something here is wrong we would rather fix it than defend it. Send the entry, what is wrong and a source. Corrections re-date the entry so readers can see it was re-checked.
