Ownership and conflicts of interest
Who owns and operates Built on Arc, the independent directory for Circle's Arc, its relationship to the TrustSwap group, and what a paid tier does not buy.
Built on Arc is published by Builtonarc.app LLC. The company is under common ownership with TrustSwap and the other companies in the TrustSwap group, which also operates crypto media and product properties separate from this directory. Where any of those properties cite Built on Arc, they do so as outside publications and receive no editorial preference here.
That relationship creates one obvious conflict, and this page states it rather than leaving it to be discovered. Products built or operated by companies in the TrustSwap group appear in this directory as entries, the same as any other project on Circle’s Arc blockchain. They are held to the same evidentiary standard as every other entry: a status is only recorded as live, testnet, announced or inactive on the strength of a dated primary source, and the source is published on the entry alongside the status. Common ownership does not produce a preferential status, a better position in any list or ranking, an exemption from the checks, or a different verification outcome. If a TrustSwap-group product cannot be evidenced as live, it is not recorded as live.
The same separation applies to money. Built on Arc sells listing tiers and advertising, and those are labelled wherever they appear. A paid tier buys placement and presentation. It does not buy a status, alter the evidence behind one, change the order of an editorial list, or influence whether an entry is verified. “Verified” is the name of a paid tier and a description of a completed check; it is not an endorsement, and it is defined in full on how listings work.
Built on Arc is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by Circle. Arc is a Circle product. This directory is an independent record of what is built on it, and Circle has no involvement in what appears here or how it is described.
Corrections are welcome and are handled the same way regardless of who is asking. If an entry on this site is wrong — including one for a TrustSwap-group product — the fastest way to fix it is to send the primary source that shows it, to contact@builtonarc.app.
