The Editor's Index · 179

The Editor's Index is our own shortlist: the projects we think are the clearest examples of real work on Arc. It cannot be bought, it is never influenced by payment, and an entry can be removed from it as easily as it was added. Editorial entries are marked with a warm dot after the name and their outbound links are not sponsored, because nobody paid for them. This is an opinion, not a rating, and certainly not investment advice or a safety judgment. The same dated evidence standard applies to every row here as to every other row in the directory.

Questions

Can a project pay to join the Editor's Index?

No. The Index is not for sale in any form, and paying projects are told so before they submit. A Listing is a paid submission and a different thing entirely.

How does a project get into the Index?

We add it. Typically because it shipped something real on Arc, documented it, and the work stands up when we check the sources.

Does paying change where a project appears?

No. Paid entries are labelled Listing, sit in the same ranked order as everything else, and use rel="sponsored". Payment never affects status, flags, evidence or the Editor's Index.
